YouTube without
the binge.
Kids watch only the channels you approve. No Shorts. No endless feed. No autoplay.
Three modes. One rule: only approved channels play.
The mode decides what YouTube allows; distraction toggles decide what a page even shows.
Off — normal YouTube
Filtering is paused. Every channel and video plays, and the usual YouTube layout stays.
On a Kids profile, turning things off or loosening the mode asks for the parent PIN.
Explore — a wider shelf, still curated
Study channels plus curiosity picks from the approved list — good for browsing without drifting into junk.
Where General (13+) starts. Kids can move to Explore too — with the parent PIN.
Focus — study channels only
Only hand-reviewed, strictly educational channels play. Everything else stays blocked.
Where Kids starts. Also the deep-work mode on General (13+).
Distraction controls
Hide Shorts, comments, recommendations, end screens, trending, autoplay, the home feed — every toggle independent, the sensitive ones PIN-gated.
Local approve
Parents can approve any channel just for their device in seconds. Requests are automatically sent for global review.
Parent PIN
Kids installs require a 4–8 digit PIN. Switching profiles, loosening the mode, or un-hiding Shorts and the feed all ask for the PIN. Unlock lasts 5 minutes.
No account, no tracking
Settings live in your browser. The server only sees channel syncs and lookups — no history, no identity.
How it works
Install the extension
Download and load Unbinge into Chrome or Edge. Takes less than 2 minutes.
Choose a profile
Pick Kids or General (13+). The approved list matches the learner automatically.
Pick a mode
Focus for study channels only, Explore for a wider curated shelf — or Off for normal YouTube. Kids start in Focus.
Want to add a channel?
Paste the channel link in the popup → it's approved locally in seconds and automatically queued for global review. No extension? Use the global review form.
Two profiles, sensible starting points
Profiles set the defaults. Kids start in Focus behind a parent PIN; General (13+) starts in Explore. Switch profiles from the extension popup. More detail: YouTube for kids and YouTube for students.
Kids
The smallest, safest slice of the approved list — science, stories, drawing, and more. Starts in Focus. Parent PIN required.
General (13+)
A wider study-and-curiosity slice. Starts in Explore. Optional PIN if you share the computer with kids.
